Ellen Chard, Head of SSAFA’s Support Groups and representing the charity, attended a reception held at 10 Downing Street hosted by the Prime Minster ahead of Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day.

She commented: “It was a real privilege to attend today’s Remembrance Reception at 10 Downing Street, alongside members of the serving community, veterans, bereaved families, and the organisations that support them.

“I was proud to attend with Air Marshal Sir Simon Bollom, SSAFA’s National Chair, to represent SSAFA and our work supporting bereaved families across the Armed Forces community. It was also wonderful to join my peers from the Defence Bereaved Families Group, with which SSAFA works closely.

“During such a poignant week, it felt especially meaningful to come together with people and organisations united in supporting families whose loved ones made the ultimate sacrifice. It was a moment to remember, reflect, and recognise the importance of support and collaboration long after loss.”
