SAS: Who Dares Wins star helps Landmarc golf day raise £34,311 for SSAFA
21 October 2026
Colleagues, customers, partners, and suppliers came together at Bowood Golf Course for a memorable day of golf and friendly competition, raising £34,311 for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.
SSAFA’s work is closely aligned with Landmarc’s mission, providing practical, emotional, and financial support to serving personnel and veterans, as well as their families. The golf day in Wiltshire offered an opportunity to support that vital work while building connections and enjoying time with new and familiar faces.
Landmarc has partnered with SSAFA since 2019, supporting fundraising activities that increase awareness of the charity’s work. Since 2024, that support has also included SSAFA’s mentoring service. Twelve Landmarc employees have trained as volunteer mentors, achieving a Level 2 Peer Mentoring qualification before being carefully matched with SSAFA beneficiaries.
Through regular one-to-one contact, Landmarc mentors have now contributed 350 hours of their time, helping people leaving the Armed Forces rebuild confidence, develop greater independence, and find a clearer direction for the future.
The event was supported by Jason “Foxy” Fox, a former Royal Marine Commando and Special Forces operator known for SAS: Who Dares Wins. He has written three books, including Battle Scars and Life Under Fire.
In March 2025, Foxy and three fellow veterans completed the 500km Project Fire and Ice Arctic Ultra through Swedish Lapland, raising funds for SSAFA and awareness of male mental health and resilience.
Speaking after the golf day, Foxy said: “I was delighted to take part in Landmarc’s SSAFA golf day because supporting the Armed Forces community is a cause that means a great deal to me. Having backed SSAFA before, I’ve seen the life-changing and even life-saving difference its practical and compassionate support can make.
“Huge credit to Landmarc for bringing people together and continuing to champion this important charity.”
The Landmarc golf day was also supported by professional golfer, long-drive specialist, and six-time champion across Europe Jordan Brooks. Although injury prevented him from attending in person, he took part virtually: four of his drives were placed on the 10th hole, giving teams a choice of where to play their second shot.
Jordan commented: “It’s been an absolute pleasure to support Landmarc’s golf day in aid of SSAFA and to use the sport to support such a worthy cause. SSAFA’s work makes a real difference to serving personnel and veterans, and – very importantly – their families, who so often aren’t the focus of attention. Kudos to Landmarc for its long-standing and continuing commitment to the Armed Forces community.”
The success of the golf day reflected the collective effort of everyone involved - from those who played and sponsored the event to those who donated silent-auction prizes or gave their time. Together, their support will help SSAFA continue to be there for members of the Armed Forces community when they need it most.
This theme was echoed by Jonathan Sandall, SSAFA’s Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications, who was also at Bowood. He added: “Through sponsorship, fundraising, and the generosity of all who took part, an incredible £34,311 was raised. That’s a remarkable achievement and one that will make a real difference to serving personnel and veterans, and their families who rely on our support.
“While we were very lucky with the weather, the real success was the collective effort of everyone involved.
“On behalf of SSAFA, my thanks to the whole Landmarc team, sponsors and everyone who helped make the day such a success. We’re enormously grateful for their partnership, commitment, and continued support.”
Matt Hughes, Operations Director at Landmarc Support Services, added: “We are incredibly proud of the outcome of our golf event and the money raised to support veterans and the wider Armed Forces community. Our ongoing partnership with SSAFA reflects Landmarc’s commitment to serving personnel, veterans, and their families."
