Meet the team
The team at SSAFA South East Wales is dedicated to helping veterans, service personnel, and their families, in the local community. Our commitment is to provide support with experienced, non-judgemental and friendly advice, as well as a variety of practical services that cover a range of emotional, practical and financial issues. We are proud to say that we help our Armed Forces family whenever they need us, for as long as they need us. Here at SSAFA South East Wales, we have a variety of different personalities that together make our team so special.
Fran Parsons
Branch Administration Coordinator and Caseworker
Fran worked for MOD Infantry Records for 6 years followed by 32 years in HM Courts Service.
Fran joined SSAFA in 2011 as a Volunteer Caseworker and Branch Secretary for the former SSAFA Cardiff & The Vale Branch, and has since undertaken the additional role of Branch Administration Coordinator in order to continue to provide assistance/support to the Armed Forces community.
Nicholas Beswick
Community Engagement Volunteer/Caseworker
After serving thirty years in the Fusiliers, Nicholas moved to the Brecon Beacons and worked for a defence contractor until he retired in 2020. To continue to support the Services he trained as a caseworker during the Covid lockdowns and now also helps with mentoring new caseworkers for the South East Wales area.
