SSAFA recently held another Curry and Quiz Night at Mr Singh’s India in Glasgow, raising an incredible £3,600 at the event for the charity in Scotland.

Award-winning Mr Singh's on Elderslie Street is well known for its impressive list of famous visitors over the years, which ranges from Billy Connolly to Orlando Bloom and from Tinie Tempah to Robert Duvall.

At one SSAFA Curry and Quiz Night last year, Keir Starmer and Anas Sawar paid rapt attention to a talk given by SSAFA beneficiary and fundraiser Gary Jamieson, whose daughter Nikkole recently raised hundreds of pounds with fellow burlesque dancers for the military charity.

Although there was no performing, Scott Cunningham, SSAFA’s Challenge and Community Events Officer in Scotland, paid tribute to all who attended and raised so much at Mr Singh’s India for SSAFA, adding: “It’s this generosity, this effort, that keeps SSAFA going to support serving and former personnel – regardless of rank or regiment, ship or squadron – and their families and it’s absolutely vital because no-one should have to battle on alone.”

SSAFA’s next big fundraisers in Scotland will be the 2024 Kiltwalks. All places for the first of the season in Glasgow are full, but there are spaces left for Aberdeen, Dundee, and Edinburgh in June, August, and September respectively.
