Volunteers for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity in Lincolnshire, up and down the country, and even overseas have had their contributions recognised with the Sir James Gildea Local Award.
Staff of the Bishop Auckland branch of Newcastle Building Society were commended for their support for the Durham Branch of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity as the building society re-opened after refurbishment.
A local artist, Miranda Trojanowska, will be having an exhibition of her paintings at DINA as part of Open Up Sheffield, a yearly open studios event, with a donation from each sale going to the South Yorkshire branch of SSAFA.
SSAFA’s 13 Bridges Challenge is back! Taking place on 25th June 2022, the event is one of SSAFA’s major Armed Forces Day activities and provides a great opportunity to raise money for SSAFA with participants walking the 10-mile route criss-crossing the River Thames via the 13 bridges in Central London.
