A Driving Force for SSAFA revs up for their adventure to the Balkans!

30 July 2026

A Driving Force for SSAFA 2026 will set off from Dunkirk this Saturday (August 1), beginning with a short memorial service to honour military personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

The 11-day fundraising challenge will see more than 50 cars and support vehicles travel through 10 countries to Bosnia and back, raising money for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

Since 2012, A Driving Force and Rally for Heroes have raised more than £850,000 for charities supporting serving personnel, veterans, and their families. Participants have pledged to raise a further £100,000 for SSAFA and have already raised more than £95,000.

The 2026 event will be particularly evocative as most of the leadership team were in the Armed Forces during the wars in the Balkans.

Steve Shaw, Director of A Driving Force, said: “Those taking part in A Driving Force 2026, will once again come from all walks of life, to help others by fundraising for SSAFA whilst having the adventure of a lifetime.

“As we conduct this event, we pay tribute to the hundreds of people who made the ultimate sacrifice on operations. Just as importantly our fundraising is aimed at sustaining people and their families who suffered life changing injuries.”
