Welcome To Wiltshire

08 March 2021

Lieutenant Colonel Lawrence “Ash” Ashbridge MBE RWxY, a member of the Army Reserves and longstanding SSAFA Hampshire volunteer has taken over as Chairman of SSAFA Wiltshire. Not only does he continue to volunteer for the charity, he has been mobilised since April 2020 and has led the planning team for COVID Support operations in Joint Military Command South West.

Ash takes over the chair from Stephen Oxlade who moves to a more strategic volunteer role with SSAFA at national level, saying “I move on knowing that Ash will ensure that one of SSAFA’s busiest branches continues to provide the same excellent support to the Forces community that it has for almost 140 years”.

As an experienced SSAFA caseworker, Ash recognises that volunteers are the lifeblood of an organisation which, at county level, is entirely voluntary. One of his first priorities will be to promote SSAFA deeper across Wiltshire, in particular, within the Armed Forces community (Regular, Reserve and Veteran).

Please feel free to call our Forcesline if you need any support.
