Old Comrades

A chance meeting at the Scots Guards Regimental gathering on the 8th September 2019 brought the two together after 53 years, now both volunteering as SSAFA caseworkers.

Graham Fowler, stalwart of the Scots Regimental Association and former Junior RSM of the Infantry Junior Leaders Battalion in Oswestry, met George Givens, who was manning a SSAFA stall at the Scots Guards reunion in Fife.

George, Chairman of SSAFA Fife and himself a former Junior Leader and Queens's Own Highlander, last saw Graham at Oswestry in 1966.  Both wanted to help and support our veterans when they finally retired and became volunteer caseworkers a number of years ago - Graham with SSAFA Brighton and Lewes, Sussex and George with SSAFA Fife.

George said, "It was great to meet Graham after so many years.  We both have many happy memories of our time as young Junior Soldiers".
