SSAFA Weekly Lottery FAQ

Our most frequently asked questions about the SSAFA Weekly Lottery.

Can I have more than one weekly entry?

Yes, you can have up to 20 entries per each weekly draw.

Each £1 entry buys you one “chance” of winning in the SSAFA Weekly Lottery.

Can I choose my own lottery numbers?

No. Every entry into the draw is automatically allocated a unique lottery number. The odds of winning are fair and equal for every number. Once a number is allocated to a player it cannot be allocated again to another player.

How can I pay for my entries?

You can pay by Direct Debit or debit card online.

To join online via Direct Debit please click here.

If you would like to request a postal form then please contact the SSAFA Weekly Lottery helpline on 0370 050 9240 or send an email to info@unitylottery.co.uk.

Why is the price £4.34 per month when paying Direct Debit?

The monthly cost breakdown of £4.34 for playing the lottery is based on paying £1 per week over a 52-week year.

Direct Debits are only collected once a month, and sometimes there will be five weeks in a month and so the additional 34p required is to build up enough credit to cover the fifth week on these five-week months.

Are my entries eligible for Gift Aid?

Unfortunately, payments for lottery entries are not eligible for Gift Aid.

If you would like to donate to SSAFA, please visit www.ssafa.org.uk/donate.

How will I know if I’ve won?

All winning members will be sent their prizes automatically either by bank transfer or in the post each week directly following the draw.

You can also click here to check the results page on our website to see the winning sequence for each weekly draw.

How do I claim my prize?

The draw takes place every Friday. Once it has taken place, winners are notified by post or email.

If you match 4 digits or more, you will be sent your winnings automatically, either directly into your bank (if playing by Direct Debit), or via a cheque sent in the post.

If you match 3 digits you will be sent an email to confirm your win and your temporary 5 prize entry lottery numbers for the following week's draw.
