The Edinburgh Half Marathon is a friendly 13.1 mile run, held on the same day as the Edinburgh Marathon, and following much of the same fast and flat course - ideal for first time runners, or those seeking a personal best!
The Edinburgh Half Marathon has sold out every year since 2012 and is one of the largest half-marathons in the UK!

Register today!Enjoy the 2027 May Bank Holiday weekend with a trip away to Scotland’s beautiful capital city and enjoy running against the stunning backdrop of Edinburgh Castle and along the shore of the Forth estuary.
The race starts at 08:00 on Potterow, just off the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town, and finishes at the port town of Musselburgh. The route starts with a 90 metre descent to the coast, before levelling out for the next 20 miles, enabling runners to get their best times on this fast and flat course.
Along the route you'll find thousands of cheering spectators as well as hydration and energy stations to keep you going - all part of the reason why the EdinburghHalf Marathon is a fantastic day out for runners of all abilities!

How to register
Simply register on the Edinburgh Half Marathon Festival website and press the "Enter Now" button.
Then select "SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity" as your charity of choice.
Once you have registered, the SSAFA team will be informed, and will get into contact with you separately and provide you with additional advice and information (and your SSAFA running top).
