SSAFA Represented at Royal Visit to Veteran-Friendly GP Practice

14 November 2025

SSAFA was proudly represented by Caseworker Jayne Mountain during His Majesty King Charles III’s visit to Chatfield Health Care in south-west London recently. The practice runs a tailored, veteran-friendly programme supporting members of the Armed Forces community.

Over a cup of tea, Patron of SSAFA, His Majesty said:

“The difficulty, I suspect, is that when you leave the forces, you are leaving that whole family of your unit and suddenly left wondering what to do. This must be a great help.”

During the visit, His Majesty learned about the centre’s veteran-friendly programme, which provides tailored healthcare and support for veterans. The programme provides a range of healthcare and rehabilitation services designed specifically for former servicemen and women.

Jayne had the honour of speaking briefly with the King about SSAFA’s vital work in supporting the Armed Forces community.  Jayne also took the opportunity to connect with other organisations dedicated to supporting veterans and their families.
