SSAFA comment on launch of UK Government’s ‘VALOUR’

Commenting on the launch of VALOUR, Julie McCarthy – Director of Welfare Operations at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity – said: 

“SSAFA has a long history – 140 years this year – of supporting those after their service to the Crown, as well as providing support to serving personnel and their families.

“Many of the types of situation VALOUR is tasked to deal with are ones that SSAFA already does, such as our Mentoring service, which has supported thousands of service leavers into with the transition to Civvy Street.

“And so of course SSAFA welcomes the announcement today of VALOUR and we look forward to seeing its implementation and how SSAFA can bring its unique skills and experience that span and have evolved over three centuries to support VALOUR as it supports those who’ve given so much for the UK.”
