Open-air concert series raises £42,000 for SSAFA

22 August 2025

Battle Proms took place at historic stately homes across the country this summer, with thousands turning out to enjoy an evening of live music, aerial displays and pageantry all in support of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

This year’s theme was “Vintage Spectacular”, marking the 80th anniversary of VE Day, with period styling, live swing performances and a dedicated Jazz and Jive tent proving a highlight. Events ran from 5 July to 2 August at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, Burghley House in Lincolnshire, Hatfield Park in Hertfordshire; and Highclere Castle in Hampshire.

Thanks to the generosity of audiences and organisers, the 2025 concerts raised more than £42,000 for SSAFA, bringing the total raised since the partnership began in 2018 to £337,300.

Georgia Kay, Special Events Manager at SSAFA, said: “The Battle Proms concerts are a remarkable celebration of our military’s rich heritage, and we’re proud to be part of such an iconic event. We are very grateful to the organisers for continuing to support SSAFA, and to all the eventgoers whose generous donations support our work with serving Armed Forces personnel, veterans and their families.”

Emma Dexter, Marketing Manager for Battle Proms, said: “One of the real highlights this year was seeing audiences get involved. From dancing along with the Victory Swing dancers to joining in with proms favourites at the finale, that sense of fun and togetherness is what makes the Battle Proms so special. Our partnership with SSAFA adds to that spirit, with their volunteers bringing incredible passion and energy to every event. It simply would not be the same without them.”
