SSAFA Hampshire volunteer wins top award

We are delighted to announce that Ash Ashbridge, Branch Publicity Officer and Caseworker of SSAFA Hampshire, has been awarded a Commander Home Command Commendation in the Army New Year's Honours List 2020.

This is for Ash's work as OIC Parade of the Armed Forces Day National Event that took place in Salisbury on 29 June 2019. SSAFA was the charity partner for the Salisbury event. Great news for SSAFA and for Ash, who is also a proud Army Reservist.

A precis of the citation reads:

Lieutenant Colonel L P Ashbridge MBE RWxY

Lt Col Ashbridge is commended for his exceptional performance in delivering Armed Forces Day in Salisbury this summer. It was a very complex event requiring detailed planning over sustained period of time which required careful balance as an Army Reservist.
