Local Veterans' Hub in Shoeburyness opens

05 October 2021

SSAFA Southend & Rochford and The Salvation Army will be joining forces to run a new Veterans Hub in Shoeburyness opening on Wednesday 6 October.

The new Veterans Hub will take place between 10am and 12pm every Wednesday, offering local veterans a place to socialise and receive advice or guidance.

The hub will be held at the Salvation Army Church and Community Centre, Frobisher Way in Shoeburyness.

Michele Turner-Everett, Divisional Secretary at SSAFA Southend and Rochford said: “The new veterans’ hub in Shoeburyness is open to all members of the Armed Forces community, including their families. The hub is a place for our veterans to socialise and receive guidance on any issues they’re facing. These hubs are a lifeline to many of our veterans, relieving them of feelings of loneliness and isolation.

Salvation Army Captains Clare and Rob Davis said: “We look forward to working in partnership with SSAFA in order to help our veterans in the local area. As a church we aim to serve and be at the heart of the community of Shoeburyness and this is one way that we can achieve this.

If you would like to attend the new veterans’ hub in Shoeburyness, contact SSAFA on 01702 463 113.
