On 8th October members of SSAFA visited 3 RIFLES, at Dreghorn barracks in Edinburgh.

Fergus Hardie, Chair of the Edinburgh & Lothians branch of SSAFA and Sandra Millar, Corporate and Special Events Officer at SSAFA, gave a series of 6 x 20 minute presentations, on a full range of SSAFA services, to serving personnel of the Battalion. Fran Good, a Caseworker with the Edinburgh & Lothians branch, was also in attendance to help support the event.

This event was part of a Welfare Event day for the Battalion, organised by Sandra in conjunction with the Battalion's Welfare team.

The feedback from those present was very positive, and the event will certainly be repeated in the future. There may possibly be a summer BBQ family event next June that SSAFA could have a stand at.

Additionally, two members of 3 RIFLES indicated that they would like to volunteer with SSAFA, one as a Mentor and one in a Community Engagement Volunteer role.
