Carnoustie Panmure show support for Armed Forces community with SSAFA match day
22 April 2026
Carnoustie Panmure FC is partnering with SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity for its match against Letham on Saturday 25 April.
The club will host volunteers from SSAFA Dundee and Angus Branch at Laing Park for the home fixture, raising awareness and funds to support members of the local Armed Forces community in their time of need.
The day will also feature military-inspired challenges and activities weather permitting, and a performance from Carnoustie and District Pipe Band, while local Army and RAF cadets will also support on the day.
Graeme Christie, Co-Chairman of Carnoustie Panmure FC, said: “As a community football club and a registered charity ourselves we are passionate about improving outcomes for people, helping to ensure they are happy, healthy, and well-supported.
“Teaming up with SSAFA Dundee and Angus is a great opportunity for us to deliver on that ambition, and we’re proud to have a part in generating vital awareness and funds for Forces-experienced people locally who need a helping hand.
“As an ex-serviceman myself, this event holds particular personal significance, making it even more special to be involved in supporting those who have served.”
SSAFA exists to ensure the Armed Forces community never battle alone. It has been a trusted source of support for serving personnel, veterans, and their families in Scotland, across the UK, and overseas, for more than 140 years.
Rae Dick, Chair of SSAFA Dundee and Angus Branch, said: “We are delighted to have a SSAFA presence at Carnoustie Panmure’s upcoming match against Letham and can’t wait to chat with the football community about the work our charity does for the Armed Forces family in Dundee and Angus.
“Community connections and collaboration are key to raising awareness of what we do – ultimately helping us reach even more people who need our support and raising funds to ensure we can be there for the Armed Forces community now and long into the future.”
Carnoustie Panmure will play Letham at home at Laing Park on Saturday 25 April, with kick off at 2.30pm.
