A Christmas Message from Our Chairman

15 December 2019

Dear Ladies & Gentlemen,

A very sincere thankyou to you all for your commitment, dedication and hard work during 2019. This has been a particularly busy year on all fronts and I am grateful to you for the way you have responded particularly to regulatory compliance (GDPR, Safeguarding etc) and to training for CMS2. Our Caseload has been heavy but thanks to the efforts of our Caseworkers & Visitors there will be a lot of individuals and families enjoying a more comfortable and less stressful Christmas this year. I have been sorry to see some of our long serving Caseworkers leave but I’m heartened by our progress in recruiting replacements and welcome all those volunteers who have recently joined us. We have had a successful fundraising year and thank you to all those who have organised or supported events around the county. Awareness of who we are and what we do continues to grow and be reinforced and some really good work has been done to enhance SSAFA’s profile in Devon. On 23 April we will hold our AGM, once again at Huntsham Court near Tiverton. I very much hope you will all try and attend. It will afford the opportunity to review recent events, to celebrate what has been achieved and to look forward at the year in prospect. For now can I wish you and your families a very Happy and peaceful Christmas and good health and best wishes for the coming year.

Andy Pillar
