WELCOME FROM OUR CHAIRMAN
Can we help you? Could you help us to help others?
We are delighted that you are visiting the SSAFA Cheshire microsite and hope that you will explore the site to discover how your local SSAFA branch might help you.
If you need help or advice and are a serving or ex service person, or a partner or dependent of one, please get in touch with us. We are here to help.
A member of our team of trained volunteers is only a phone call or email away. We will be happy to arrange a visit, in the strictest confidence, to discuss how SSAFA might help to meet your needs.
If you have a little spare time and wish to support our armed forces community, then again please contact us. You could become a key member of our friendly team of volunteers. Our volunteers get a great deal of satisfaction knowing that they have really helped to change lives.
We hope to hear from you.
Very kind regards
Anne Lamb Chairman SSAFA Cheshire
SSAFA Cheshire Carol Service held in Chester
The SSAFA Cheshire Carol Service was held at Eaton Hall Chester on 7th. Dec 2017. It proved to be highly successful both as an event and as a fundraising opportunity. As a result of donations from our supporters on the night and match funding from Bibby Leasing the final amount raised is likely to be in four figures. Watch this space!
We are grateful to the Singme Merseyside Choir and The Ellesmere brass Ensemble for their excellent contributions to the success of the evening. MajorGeneral Skempton CBE DL President of SSAFA Cheshire gave the congregation a brief outline of the work of the branch.
The service was conducted by the Rev. George Perera from the Dale barracks who also gave an amusing but thought provoking address.
Our thanks also go to all those members of our Chester Division who worked so hard to make the evening a memorable event.

BIBBY FINANCIAL SERVICES
The Dream Team
In August 2016 SSAFA Cheshire Branch began an exciting new initiative with Bibby Financial Services based in Warrington. Bibby Financial Services 'Dream Team' of volunteers was to raise money for SSAFA Cheshire via various fundraising activities. These have included a Christmas raffle which alone raised £500.
We are extremely pleased to report that before the end of February we are to receive a cheque for £1600, and that next month we expect a further cheque for £1900.
We can only pass on our grateful thanks and admiration to the Dream Team for their fantastic achievement.
ARMED FORCES DAY 2017
Tom Sephton Memorial Day
This year SSAFA were the main beneficiaries of the annual Tom Sephton Rugby League festival held at Crossfields ARLFC in Warrington. The festival is held in memory of Tom Sephton of 1 Mercian who was killed in Afghanistan. This year's event saw Rugby League games involving The Royal Marines, The Parachute Reginent, The RAF and The Army as well as Crossfields ARLFC. SSAFA Cheshire have so far received donations in excess of £2000 and further donations are likely. We would like to offer heartfelt thanks to all concerned for this wonderful day.
We seek Volunteer CASEWORKERS IN the VALE ROYAL area, CHESTER, ELLESMERE PORT AND NESTON areas and in our WARRINGTON AND HALTON DIVISION. This is a real opportunity to give something back to the Service Community. A reasonable level of computer literacy and own transport is needed. A chance to meet and help an interesting range of people within the service community. We are particularly keen to fill the posts in the VALE ROYAL AREA.
We are also seeking HELPERS TO ASSIST WITH RUNNING EVENTS AND FUNDRAISING. The only commitment would be to help out at fundraising events 2-3 times a year. This voluntary post would suit people who are in employment, as well as the retired, as there are no set hours.
