The team behind the social isolation group set up by South West Durham Division of SSAFA Durham Branch and the Bishop Auckland Veterans’ Group has been recognised at the recent Northern Echo County Durham Together Awards finals.
The US Marine Corps Marathon took place last month in Washington DC, and a team from 7th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland took part, raising funds for the Perth & Kinross branch of SSAFA.
The Chair of SSAFA Fife recently visited the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards at Leuchars in Fife to lend a hand packing Christmas parcels destined for Mali, where a detachment of the regiment is currently deployed.
SSAFA will be delivering Christmas cheer across Devon this December. With the cost of living crisis biting hard at the heels of the older generations, 60 Christmas hampers will be delivered to veterans and their families.
