On Friday 2nd June, the Rt Hon. Johnny Mercer, Minister of State for Veterans’ Affairs, joined SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, in kicking off the Armed Forces Day (24th June) celebrations in Launceston by greeting the Flag Relay.
SSAFA Durham volunteers Mike Donne and Ruth Wright have been recognised for their invaluable work on behalf of veterans and serving personnel, and their families, in the region by the Chair of Durham County Council.
The Northern Ireland Branch of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity held a tea party and concert to mark the coronation of King Charles III, raising around £5,500 to help fund its work in the province.
The first AGM since 2019, and the lifting of restrictions imposed by lockdowns, has taken place at The Hotel Heide Residenz in Paderborn.
