SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity is a trusted source of support for serving personnel, veterans and their families in their time of need. Founded in 1885, we’re extremely proud of our long-standing heritage and of all the work we do with inspiring people from Tyne & Wear, across the UK and around the world.

Historic rivets removed during the refurbishment of Newcastle’s iconic Tyne Bridge have helped raise £5,000 for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, at an exclusive charity auction hosted at Newcastle Racecourse.
An incredible new selection of flapjacks will be sold across British military establishments, thanks to ESS and their supply partner Snak Shed - with all profits sent to SSAFA in support of the Armed Forces community.
