Gifts in Wills

Members of our Armed Forces are always there when we need them. With a gift in your Will, you can be there for them, ensuring they never battle alone.

Service life demands commitment, courage and sacrifice, not only from those who serve, but from their families too. Yet when challenges arise, whether physical injury, emotional strain, bereavement or the difficult transition to civilian life, many can find themselves facing battles of their own.

That's when SSAFA steps in.

Driven by a duty of care to the Armed Forces community, we stand alongside serving personnel, veterans and families when they need support most. Whatever challenges they face, we are ready to listen, help and provide practical assistance.

We cannot do this without you. Gifts in Wills are vital to SSAFA, funding essential services. Many of our supporters choose to leave a gift in their Will after taking care of family and friends. A gift of any size can help a veteran facing hardship, support a bereaved family, assist someone adjusting to civilian life, or give a serving person somewhere to turn.

A gift in your Will helps ensure that future generations of our Armed Forces family have someone by their side when life becomes difficult.

A gift in your will to SSAFA will make sure that whatever challenges someone in the Armed Forces faces, we will always be by their side, providing much needed support.

You can write or update your simple Will for free with SSAFA.  If you are able to leave a gift to us, large or small, you'll be helping us reach and embrace our Armed Forces family in their time of need.

SSAFA is pleased to work with two partner organisations who provide Free Will Services.  The National Free Wills Network, and Farewill - a free online Will-writing service.

There is no obligation to leave anything to SSAFA if you use any of these services.

Sometimes even the strongest among us need help. When anyone in our Armed Forces community finds themselves in need, SSAFA is the charity they can turn to. Very importantly, we also support the families and dependents of those in the Armed Forces.

To continue to give this level of support that makes a real difference to people’s lives, we depend on generosity of those who have kindly remember SSAFA with a gift in their Will. These vital funds help us provide services such as:

• Welfare and wellbeing support – Our volunteer-led network offers practical, emotional, and financial support across the UK and overseas.
• Norton House, Stanford Hall – Accommodation for family and friends, supporting those receiving treatment at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre.
• Additional Needs and Disability support – Giving advice, support, and respite for military families through our Forces Additional Needs and Disability Forum (FANDF) and Short Breaks holidays for families.
• Stepping Stone Home, Gildea House – Providing safe accommodation for wives and children, relationships have broken down.
• Mentoring – Providing personalised mentoring support for service leavers and their families, up to two years after they join ‘civvy street.’
• Support Groups – Providing facilitated support for those within the service community, including those affected by bereavement.
