Here at SSAFA we are touched by every in memory donation we receive. We understand that when a loved one dies, how you choose to pay tribute to them is a very personal decision.
Choosing to donate to SSAFA in someone's memory is a truly special way of remembering your loved one and celebrating their life while ensuring that SSAFA can continue to support our servicemen and women, veterans and their families during times of struggle.
Online Donation
You can donate online now, and let us know that it was in memory of a loved one.
Create a Memorial Tribute
SSAFA has partnered with MuchLoved, an online memorial service, which allows you to set up a lasting tribute page to your loved one, a special dedication page as well as helping you manage your funeral notices.
An online tribute page is a great way for you to honour your loved one's memory, whilst raising funds for a charity they were passionate about.
MuchLoved have made the process incredibly easy: all you need are a few words to say about the departed, and a nice picture or two.
You can then share the page with friends and family, allowing all to send a message, and, if they wish, support the chosen charity.
"SSAFA helped my brother in a dire time of need and he was truly grateful. It’s like giving something back to a very worthwhile charity."
Light a candle
This time of year is a special and poignant time to remember loved ones who are no longer with us. Light a candle gives you an opportunity to remember someone special this Christmas. Your support helps us to care for those who need our support at Christmas time - those who are facing the festive period while dealing with homelessness, loneliness and a lack of funds amongst many other issues.
Your donations in memory of your loved ones mean we can be there to support them and answer their call for help.
Set up a funeral notice
MuchLoved have also created a easy way to send out a digital funeral notice to all of your loved one's friends and family.
“We came up with your charity, as my father used to be involved with it (I think in a local way) and he was in the Royal Navy as a young man, so it all tied together nicely: when the Memorial Service is eventually held, we will put the donation details on the Service Booklet and hopefully, some more donations will be forthcoming.”
Search for an existing Memorial Tribute
If you want to find a specific Memorial Tribute on MuchLoved, or simply look around and see how other people have made their tributes, then you can do so using the MuchLoved search function.
Collection envelopes
If you require collection envelopes for a funeral please email inmemory@ssafa.org.uk with your name, address and the number you need. To ensure we get the envelopes out to in enough time please provide us at least one week’s notice prior to the funeral.
