Fundraise with SSAFA
23 September 2019
Kathy took on Ride to the Somme in memory of her grandfather. He was found alive after being presumed killed in action for 16 weeks.
“When Ride to the Somme came up, I said ‘I can do that’! In February I could only cycle two miles. When I went to the Somme, I cycled 168 miles! The sense of achievement was incredible. The average age was 50 and I was 70. My friend said, ‘oh you’re going to be an OWL – an old woman in Lycra!’. £2,000 donated. Not bad for an “OWL” 😊
