Taunton Armed Forces Day July 1, 2023

SAFFA had a wonderful day at Taunton's Armed Forces Day.   It was a great day for networking and great to chat with the people and to hear their stories.  We even had one gentleman who, quite late in the day, came to us to thank SSAFA for helping his Mother in 1942, when she was widowed and left almost destitute; SSAFA took on the education of her children, whilst she sorted out her life - this in the middle of the war.  It is always a wonderful feeling to know that we have had a positive influence on peoples lives.

 

The Teddy Raffle was as popular as ever, thanks to Sue Adams and all her wonderful work towards collecting them.  Nigel Platt, with his "Supacat" and donations gave us a total of £411.34,  which considering constraints' on peoples' budgets was a great total.
