SSAFA North Somerset keen to support veterans

22 August 2022

Last year, our North Somerset division managed to find an abundance of new volunteers, which was brilliant. However, Covid-19 has meant that they've had to temporarily shut down a large number of operations, meaning people could be missing out on vital support.

Paul Denovan, the Divisional Coordinator of our North Somerset branch said this:

"Covid-19 has shut down many planned public engagements in 2020: Helicopter Museum's World at War, VE75, Armed Forces Days etc. SSAFA North Somerset, have not been able to effectively reach out to potential clients, worsened as our office spaces, kindly provided by the Royal Air Forces Association at Eagle House is closed for now".

We would like to hear from anyone who has served in the Armed Forces who needs help.

"Many veterans tell us it is difficult to ask for help, leading to further isolation and poorer physical and mental health" - Paul Denovan

We're here to tell you that there is nothing to be worried or anxious about, if you need help we are here. We even have a confidential helpline for the Armed Forces community, where we provide confidential, non-judgemental support. You can find out more about Forcesline here.
