League Trophy Presentation of £500

SSAFA Somerset was delighted to be chosen by the Wellington Ex-Services Skittle Club as one of their chosen charities this year.

Sue Adams and Philip Smith attended the League Trophy Presentation  Night on June 27th and were presented with a cheque for £500 by Andrew Govier, President of the league teams.

28 teams were present for the evening, all from the local area of Wellington.

The history of the Ex-Services Club goes back a long way - its present form was formed in WW2 and some of the current teams still retain their war names - "Home Guard 2 and 4" and "Reservists" for example. The club is one of the oldest in Somerset.

Much interest was shown by everyone when Philip gave an outline of how SSAFA helps all service personnel and how their donation would be used.
