Carterton skydivers to 'drop in' on Salisbury airfield to raise money for SSAFA

26 August 2021

Seven staff members from Cooperative Childcare Carterton will be doing a skydive on an airfield near Salisbury on Saturday 25 September, to raise money for SSAFA.

Situated near RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, which has a large Forces community, the nursery has adopted SSAFA as its chosen charity, having seen at first hand its support to serving and retired Forces personnel and family members.

Hannah Edge, the jump organiser, said: “Being close to the airbase, we’re aware of the Forces’ commitment and lifestyle, and want to give something back by supporting SSAFA.

“It’s the first skydive for all of us and we’re very excited. Our training will be happening on the actual day of the event, and we plan to do the jump during the afternoon, subject to weather conditions.

“Feel free to come along and watch us, at GoSkydive, Old Sarum Park near Salisbury.

Our target is £3,000 and we’ve already raised over £540. All donations are greatly appreciated.”

Jumping with Hannah are colleagues Alice Whitmarsh, Corrinne Flavell, Bethan Perkins, Siobhan Vanderhyde, Abi Carver and Raquel Amaro.

Please feel free to call our Forcesline if you need any support.
