Trotters get in line to donate to SSAFA

30 January 2024

SSAFA was honoured to receive a cheque for £4,525 by Trotters, the Nottingham based line dancing group.

SSAFA East Midlands Fundraising Manager, Paul Smithurst, received the cheque from Patricia Durose of Trotters Line Dance Group.

Paul said: “This is such a generous donation and SSAFA is very grateful. Our charity relies on kind people like the Trotters to enable it to carry out the vital work in our community. Just recently SSAFA Nottinghamshire has seen an increase in homeless veterans and suffering due to the cost-of-living crisis. You have gone a long way towards helping families in need this winter.”

Karen Sturmey and Anita Charles, Trotters Line Dance founders, have fundraised £15,000 to SSAFA in total over the last three years, regularly running events to raise money for local charities.
