Market Harborough Building Society becomes new base for local Armed Forces charity
01 April 2026
Market Harborough Building Society’s Newcombe House is welcoming the Northamptonshire branch of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, into its Head Office as part of its ongoing commitment to serve the local community.
SSAFA Northamptonshire’s new home, the access to which has kindly been donated by Market Harborough Building Society’s Head Office, will allow branch volunteers to continue to meet monthly to strategise on how best to deliver support to the Armed Forces community living within the surrounding areas.
Previous initiatives to support local veterans, serving personnel and their families include a Christmas Hamper drive, where almost £4,500 was invested in hamper donations to ease the mounting financial pressures many face at Christmas.
Gareth Bull, Branch Chair for SSAFA Northamptonshire said: “With dedicated SSAFA volunteers spread out across the county, Newcombe House is the perfect base for our branch. Tim and the team have really gone above and beyond to make us feel welcome and we cannot thank them enough for giving us a space to continue supporting the Armed Forces community within Northamptonshire.”
Thanks to the partnership, SSAFA volunteers will have access to the wider facilities available on site including free Wi-Fi, refreshments and meeting rooms equipped with audio-visual technology.
Tim Neal, Head of Footprint at Market Harborough Building Society added: “We are delighted to welcome the SSAFA Northamptonshire branch and its volunteers into Newcombe House. Supporting great organisations that make a real difference locally is exactly why we designed our space the way we did.
“Newcombe House was created to be a vibrant, accessible hub where local people, groups, and good causes can come together to create impact that goes further than our business alone. Last year, we welcomed more than 5,500 guests to events here; this year is already shaping up to be just as active. We’re proud to now be supporting our local Armed Forces community as part of our ongoing commitment to helping our communities build thriving futures.”
