SSAFA London North West Call Out For Volunteers

30 November 2020

The Armed Forces charity provides financial, practical and emotional support for serving personnel (including reserves), veterans and military families across the UK and worldwide.

Caseworkers are responsible for working out what type of support clients require and working with them to find the right sources of support and arranging for the clients to access that support. This could be funds for special equipment for someone with a disability or adaptations to a property so an older client can remain at home.

Mike Green, Branch Secretary at SSAFA London North West, said:

“Our network of trained volunteers is at the heart of our work. We need you to join your local SSAFA team to help us support the Armed Forces community in Redbridge and Waltham Forest.”

The role is varied, flexible and very rewarding, giving back to those that have served. Previous experience isn’t necessary as training will be provided. All backgrounds and experiences are welcomed, and a military background is not essential.

“Everyone who offers their time to volunteer with SSAFA makes a big difference. The sense of pride you get when you know you have helped someone get their independence and dignity back is extraordinary.”
