teamSSAFA get set for the London Marathon

This Sunday 30 members of teamSSAFA will take on the London Marathon to raise money for SSAFA.

Altogether the runners will cover a staggering 786 miles and hope to raise an incredible £40,000 to go towards providing lifeong support for our Armed Forces and their families.

Our team is a mix of civilian, military and ex-military personnel who have all been training hard over the cold winter months. They’ve each pledged to raise £1,600 to help SSAFA continue our life changing work.

One of this years runners Sarah Borland explains why she chose to run for SSAFA: “SSAFA helps those who put their lives on the line for our country. The support they provide for men and women coming out of the forces and for their families is invaluable and running 26.2 miles to help support them seems like a small task compared to the sacrifice and dangers that they have undertaken for our country.”

To all of our runners, we want to wish you the very best for this weekend. Surround yourself with positive thoughts and remind yourself why you have decided to run for SSAFA in the first place. Good luck, we will be cheering you along the way and will see you at the finish line.
