Branch AGM, Training Day And Christmas Lunch

Whilst we volunteers all work from home there are times when we meet as a Branch.  Each year there is an AGM held normally at the Homestead Court Hotel Welwyn Garden City. Our President, Councillor Teresa Heritage, chairs the meeting. The AGM reviews our activities for the previous year and scrutinises the accounts. An external speaker, normally from our Central office in London provides an update on events and changes in the wider aspects of SSAFA activities and in the Service charity sector as a whole. On completion of the AGM a lunch is served in the hotel restaurant.

Annually we hold a training day to update members on changes to benefits and allowances and regulations and procedures in the social charity sector.  Guest speakers are invited to cover specialist aspects. Training days are normally held in the Reserves Centre in Hertford in late October or early November.

In December we meet for an informal Christmas Lunch normally attended by some 25 to 30 members and their partners/guests. The lunch is held in the Best Western Homestead Hotel in Welwyn Garden City. This year our Christmas Lunch will be held on Tuesday 10^th of December.
