Our specially trained volunteers are on bases and stations around the world. Find out more about how they can support you and your children.
If you’re living on a base or station then you might need someone to talk to such as when your loved one is deployed away from home or if you are new to service life. Our volunteers are there to listen and give support to military women, and to assist with practical help for things like gardening or walking the dog when you’re not able to do so yourself.
Our Stepping Stone Homes are places of refuge for women and their children to stay when a relationship with someone in the Forces breaks down. They are a comfortable, secure and female-only place to stay for as long as you need to get back on your feet
If someone in your family has additional needs then SSAFA can provide specialised support including our Forces Additional Needs and Disability Forum (FANDF).
We offer activities for children and young people from service families, including those with additional needs and disabilities. These adventures give children a break away from home and give you and your family at home a rest.
SSAFA is a registered adoption agency dedicated to helping military couples and families through the adoption process.
This network of choirs, bringing women in the military community closer together through singing, is a branch of SSAFA.
