Tasty treats raise funds for SSAFA

Last month, Andover Army Head Quarters held a bake sale to raise funds and awareness for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity raising almost £400.

Harriet Hood, SSAFA Salisbury Plain Chair said: “It was an amazing event, and I can’t thank, Karen, Cheryl and Jennie enough for all their hard work.”

The SSAFA Salisbury Plain Committee look after serving people and their families in their times of need. One of their main remits it to alleviate loneliness and isolation.

One wife said: “When you move every couple of years it can be really difficult to make friends and have a social life. SSAFA puts on events and makes it easier for you to meet people. It’s a life-saver.”
