Armed Forces Day 2025

On Saturday 28th June 2025, SSAFA Grampian had the honour of taking part in Aberdeen City Councils' annual parade for Armed Forces Day.

Branch members, along with 12 cadets from 2nd Battalion The Highlanders, joined in the procession while collecting on behalf of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. The parade, beginning at Albyn Place, travelled along the lined streets of  Union Street accompanied by local pipe bands before disbanding at Castlegate. 

After the parade veterans were invited to Gordon Barracks to enjoy lunch, chat and meet members of the Armed Forces community while watching The Beating of Retreat which was received by Dr David Cameron, Lord Provost of Aberdeen.
