GLOUCESTERSHIRE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION HELPS SSAFA GLOUCESTERSHIRE
11 June 2020
During this difficult time all charities are having problems raising funds. We all have on-going costs for the expenses of our volunteers, who should not be out-of-pocket due to their great work, the salary of any staff (only one in our case) and other general running costs. The coronavirus lockdown has prevented any fund-raising events taking place. We had planned activities for VE Day and Armed Forces Weekend amongst others. This has led to a shortage of funds for our routine expenses.
SSAFA Gloucestershire is most grateful to The Gloucestershire Community Foundation for a grant of £5000 from their Coronavirus Emergency Response Fund to help with our work over this period. It will make a huge difference and allow us to continue our work in support of armed forces veterans and their families.
