SSAFA GLOUCESTERSHIRE AND DFG's.

If you are in need of home improvements to enable you to remain living in your home (for example: bathroom improvements or a stairlift) then you may be entitled to a Disability Facilities Grant (DFG) from your Local Authority.

If you are a veteran or the spouse or dependent child or widow of a veteran and living in Gloucestershire, then it is possible that SSAFA Gloucestershire may be able to help you to get such a grant. We do that by providing the initial Occupational Therapist report and submitting it to the Local Authority on your behalf. The Local Authority will then undertake a financial assessment and make a decision on the DFG. We cannot guarantee that the grant will be forthcoming but even if it is not (or there is a significant personal contribution by you to the cost) then SSAFA may submit the case to the Military Charities for possible charitable funding.
