Event News

In May 2026, the volunteers for SSAFA Germany, who are based all over the country, came together for the annual AGM, which provided a wonderful opportunity for everyone to meet personally and enjoy time together as a team.  The team took part in planning, and attended presentations given by visitors from Central Office.  and had time to come together.  There was an award ceremony where long service awards from 3 volunteers were given out. 

In July, two of our team, the Chairman and the Treasurer, attended the Veterans Day in Berlin.  A wonderful chance to inform people how SSAFA Germany assist veterans and their families here in Germany.

August saw the team present the stand at a two- day event in Bad Lippspringe - "The British Weekend". This event offered people the chance to try many British goods, devour some Fish and Chips or Scones and enjoy a Guinness or Cider all while waching the 'Old Timer' vehicles and listening to the Scottish Pipe Band.  The SSAFA stand provided an opportunity to allow the guests to play some traditional British games, like catch the duck and Golf Darts, which was very well received by many people, young and not so young!   

Veterans in Europe:

Germany Branch has a number of dedicated Casework Volunteers across the country to assist veterans in their time of need.  Assistance is provided to relieve suffering and distress amongst veterans and their families and we are committed to never letting them or their families battle alone. We aim to be there for them whenever or wherever they need us.
