Torbay Air Show

SSAFA Devon were present at this year's Torbay Airshow which was scheduled for 1st and 2nd June.

Saturday went really well with a warm sunny day and several aircraft displays. Kevin Foster, local MP, visited the SSAFA stand and is pictured with Claire Williams, Devon Branch Secretary. Sunday started promisingly but leaden skies and a low cloud base gave way to rain. The Red Arrows did a fly past and went home, the Chinook did some bumps and turns and called it a day and at about 1400 the organisers announced there would be no more flying. The volunteers duly packed up a very soggy gazebo by which time there were few, if any, members of the general public around.
For all that, the interaction with the spectators was very positive.
