Successful Branch AGM held at Cumbria's Museum of Military Life, Carlisle Castle
15 April 2025
On Thursday 10 April, SSAFA Cumbria held it's AGM, at Cumbria's Museum of Military Life, Carlisle Castle. It proved a fantastic opportunity for our branch volunteers and other guests, including our friends and colleagues from other local organisations, to come together to hear about the work carried out by the branch and celebrate achievements from 2024-2025, as well as looking forward to the year ahead.
It was wonderful to be able to celebrate some of our amazing volunteers who received awards for their work and dedication, including;
◾ Caseworkers Sandra Allen and Alan White, who received Gildea Awards for their exemplary service, dedication to case working and the assistance they provide to beneficiaries.
◾ Lt Col Tony Parkinson, Branch Chair, also received the Gildea Award for his unwavering service to the Branch as Chair.
◾ Furthermore, Tom McCrimmon and John Thompson, received the honour of becoming Branch Honorary Life Members. Cumulatively they have given 33 years service to the Branch and have both served as Chair to the Branch for a number of years.
◾ Tracey Blake, received a 15-year service award and pin and Sandra Allen, received a 5-year service award and pin.
Thank you to everyone who attended, and to all those who presented on the day.
