Local fundraiser takes on the London Marathon for SSAFA!
Nicola McKie, from Oban in Argyll and Bute, turned to SSAFA when her struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) took over her life. To give back she is running the 2025 London Marathon to raise funds for the charity. Read Nicola's story here. Good luck to Nicola, from all of us at the Argyll & Bute branch!

Through volunteering for SSAFA Argyll & Bute, you’ll have the chance to meet some truly inspiring people, with stories you’ll never forget. You’ll also gain new skills and experiences, but most importantly, you’ll make a difference in the lives of those who have dedicated their lives, often at great sacrifice, to protect and serve our country.

As the first point of contact for SSAFA in the area, you will play a crucial part in promoting SSAFA locally, organising events and ensuring the smooth running of SSAFA across the divisions in your branch.
Help provide hands-on administration of your local branch, from resolving enquiries from the public, organising team meetings and managing communications within and outside the branch.
Help your local SSAFA branch deliver a variety of activities and events with the aim of generating awareness and making a positive impact on the local community.
Eleven teams took part in a day of bowling, prizes, food and drink - raising money for SSAFA in the process!
To celebrate SSAFA The Armed Forces Charity 140th Anniversary, Northampton Branch have had a teddy bear called Edward out on adventures with the Armed Forces on raffle.
Thank you to everyone who came to another incredible SSAFA Christmas Carol Concert held at the Guard's Chapel in London, which featured a fantastic array of notable celebrity and military guests.
Thanks to Aramark for another fantastic year of support to SSAFA - in part due to the sale of sweets on military bases across the UK!
