Offa's Dyke Challenge for veteran Katty

12 September 2023

Katty Clarke, a veteran Troop Commander of 26 Regiment, Royal Artillery, from Liverpool, set off this summer to raise funds for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. She walked the length of Offa’s Dyke, an historic trail on the border between England and Wales, with her faithful dog, Moose.

Katty was medically discharged from the Army after finding a tumour and having a kidney removed in 2020, seven years into her military career. She now works in London as a Project Manager for Turner & Townsend, but still holds the Army close to her heart, making fundraising for SSAFA a priority.

Katty said: “The walk was an incredible journey with some amazing views! I am so privileged to be able experience what I have whilst raising money for such an important charity.

“The best bit by far was watching Moose in his element, having the best time in the outdoors. There have definitely been some lows like my feet never drying out and constantly getting chased by cows, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
