Nick Gaulder - Marathon Runner

A local Gloucester man, who is deployed in Cyprus, aims to raise £2,000 for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity in this year’s London Marathon.

Nick Gaulder, JNCO IHUB Episkopi HQ BFC, will be flying over from Cyprus this April to support SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity in this year’s London Marathon.

The Gloucester-born local said: “SSAFA have always been there for me during my time in the forces, especially since I’ve been based in Cyprus. My middle son has autism and SSAFA were there for us when we needed housing support.”

“My wife also attends a monthly session run by SSAFA that allows her to meet and socialise with new people in Cyprus. They’re a great support network who have helped both me and my family.”

“This will be my 11th London marathon, but this is definitely going to be my last one. I’m really proud to be running my last London marathon for such a good cause.”

“In preparation for the marathon, I’ve been doing some intense training, including running the distance of five marathons in five days in Cyprus. I ran from the Episkopi station to RAF Akrotiri – it was tough, but I powered through!”

Nick will be taking part in the London marathon on Sunday 28th April. If you would like to help Nick reach his fundraising target, please follow this link:
