SSAFA provides accommodation for the friends and family of service men and women who are undergoing treatment for illness or injury at Norton House, Stanford Hall, near the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC).

This housing provide free, safe and supportive accommodation to families and friends, enabling them to stay close to their loved ones, and provide that crucial moral and psychological support they need to feel better and get stronger.

SSAFA's Norton House service is only available to people who have a relative or close friend undergoing rehabilitation at the DMRC.

Meet Bernie

Major Bernie Broad experienced life changing injuries after getting caught up in a IED explosion in Afghanistan. He was treated at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, and has since praised the friendly and relaxing environment of Norton House where he and his wife stayed.
