If you are a UK tax payer and you donate £100 to SSAFA, you'll actually be giving more than £125 to support SSAFA’s work.
Make a Gift Aid declaration
To sign up to Gift Aid, complete a Gift Aid declaration form and send it to us with your donation.
If you are making your donation online, please remember to select the Gift Aid box.
Gift Aid is reclaimed by the charity from the tax you pay for the current tax year. Your full home address is needed to identify you as a current UK taxpayer. By signing up to gift aid, you confirm that you are a taxpayer and understand that if you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year it is your responsibility to pay any difference.
Changes to your declaration
Get in touch if you need to make changes to your declaration, including to:
- Cancel your gift aid declaration
- Change your name or home address
- Tell us you longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains.
For higher rate income tax payers
If you pay income tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your self assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.
