Prison In-reach

As a Prison In-reach volunteer you will support veterans in prison or their families.

About the role

Our Prison In-reach service forms an essential part of our support for veterans in custody. SSAFA's specialist Prison In-reach volunteers are trained in all aspects of working within the prison context with a good understanding of the Criminal Justice System and the prison system. They are also equipped to help with issues such as housing and resettlement as veterans in custody get closer to their release.

To apply to be a SSAFA volunteer:

  1. Please fill out the below enquiry form
  2. You will receive an email from SSAFA with the full application form for you to complete
  3. Once submitted, someone from your nearest branch will contact you soon

The recruitment process includes interviews and a reference check.
