Volunteers are at the heart of our work with the Armed Forces family. Meet inspiring people, gain some confidence and learn new skills as part of our volunteer network across the UK and on military bases around the world.

    As a visitor you get to see first hand the difference you make to people’s lives.

  • Treasurer

    Be responsible for the management of all funds and accounts for SSAFA locally.

  • Helper

    Become a Helper for SSAFA and get to see first hand the difference you make to people’s lives.

  • Fundraising organiser

    Help find new fundraising opportunities and ensure our existing events are a success.

  • Divisional treasurer

    Be responsible for managing Division funds and accounts.

  • Caseworker

    Meet with veterans and families to talk through their problems, and help them find solutions.

  • Recruitment officer

    Be responsible for finding volunteers in your local community, supporting them in their work and planning for the future.

    Support the branch with recruitment and management

    Provide guidance to all volunteers in your area to make sure that we provide a high standard of support.

    Support your local ex-service community, supported by the Branch Secretary.

    Provide initial IT advice to branch and divisional volunteers in their day to day SSAFA activities

    Be responsible for the proper maintenance of all the accounts within the Committee.

    You will have lots of ideas to help us spread the word about the work of SSAFA in your community.

    Publicise the work of the Service Committee to ensure that eligible clients are aware of how to access support and recruit volunteers.

    Provide the day to day administration of your local In Service Committee.

    Give a helping hand to people in your local service community.

    Co-ordinate support for the local serving community in your area.

    Plan, organise, and co-ordinate all training within the branch and ensure training standards are maintained.
