To mark the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, a souvenir coffee-table book entitled VE Day 75, has been published by the SJH Group.  Funds raised through sponsorship and sales will help to support SSAFA’s vital services providing lifelong support to our Forces and their families.

Drawing on first-hand accounts, news reports from the time, and SSAFA’s own archives the history of VE Day and the people’s personal stories from the day have been researched and written by SSAFA’s in-house Researcher and Content Developer Selina Cuff, with further contributions from other experts including royal correspondent Robert Jobson.

The book also includes eye-witness accounts of VE Day from SSAFA- supported veterans who were interviewed specifically for this publication by SSAFA’s Case-study Manager Bryony Waite. VE Day 75 is a beautifully presented publication that tells the in-depth story of Victory in Europe Day. Featuring a wide selection of photographs from the day itself, the book documents the extraordinary events of 8 May 1945, honours those involved and reflects on how this victory has impacted on British society – right up to the present day.

Please note: you will be asked to pay for Postage & Packaging.

It’s been an honour to document the tales of struggle and success behind the VE Day story

- Robert Jobson, royal correspondent and VE Day 75 author
The VE Day book is a celebration of the generation that gave so much to provide us with the relative peace and prosperity that we’ve enjoyed over the past 75 years. Working with SSAFA has really brought home the extraordinary people and events that made victory in Europe possible. It’s been a real privilege to be part of these celebrations and to provide complimentary copies of VE Day 75 to the nation.
